Auntie Anne's Bread Pudding

One of my favorite desserts of all time-- perfect in the fall and winter. Can serve with ice cream, I prefer some fresh cream. Yum!

6 eggs
3 1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp vanilla
6 c white bread chunks

May add:
raisins OR small bag of coconut with dried cranberries/blueberries

Beat together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla. Tear up white bread chunks. Put in buttered 9x13 casserole dish. Sprinkle on additives. Pour on milk mixture. Press bread into milk. Bake @ 350 until just done.

Secret: don't use too much bread, don't over bake. Serve with sauce and ice cream/cream, if desired.

Sauce for Bread Pudding:
1/4 cup butter 
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 beaten egg yolk
2 Tbsp water
2 T rum extract

Melt butter, stir in remainder of ingredients and cook for 5-6 minutes.
